Upper Sauer Reservoir

1 km west of Esch-sur-Sûre, in the middle of the Upper Sauer Nature Park, you reach the Upper Sauer reservoir, which has been dammed since 1961 and is a paradise for nature lovers. In addition to supplying drinking water and generating electricity, the lake, which covers an area of 380 hectares, is now a much-used leisure area. In addition to the water protection zone, which extends from the main dam wall to around 5 kilometres into the lake (please observe the information boards), a variety of water sports are possible, such as swimming, paddling, diving, surfing and sailing. Use the solar boat for an excursion. Motorboats are not permitted here.

The Upper Sûre reservoir is a drinking water protection area. Accordingly, you must adhere to the relevant rules during your visit.
